WP Engine Review Transcript

You can download WordPress on your web host and get a website online in minutes but the problem is web hosting. There are a million different web hosts and there's no way for you to really tell the difference between all of them. I should know, I've been on all of them. I've been on 1 and 1, I've been on SiteGround, I've been on Blue Host, I've been on everything but I just recently switched to WP Engine and oh my God, it is night and day. It is a completely different experience. It's like going from the Camry to the Ferrari and I'll tell you more about that here in a moment.

It really makes me laugh every time everybody's like hey, I want to run an online business or I want to do this online, I want to do that but then they don't want to put up any money. Okay, and that shows you that they're not serious because anybody who runs a business and especially a brick and mortar business, they have so much overhead it's expensive to run a real business. People think because it's online that they don't have to put up any money, they can just get 2 or $3 a month web hosting and they're going to start making 100, 200,000 a month and that's just not how it all works. I love this story by John Chow where he talks about somebody asking him how much his blog costs to run every month and you'll kind of be shocked at how much it is. Here it is. Here it is.

This person wanted to know, he wanted to create a business like mine, how much would he be looking at on a monthly basis? I told him that, well it will cost about, with the hosting, lead pages, email list rental, all that kind of stuff, it costs around $2,000 up to run my blog. $2,000 a month.

Can you believe this shit? John Chow is spending $2,000 a month on his website, but if you're spending $2,000 a month on something that returns $10,000 a month, wouldn't you do that all day long? Yes, you would. If you wouldn't, I'm worried about you, I'm very concerned. That is kind of my whole reason behind switching to WP Engine. It's just premium, it's the Ferrari of web hosting. It's the best experience I've ever had on a web host. They've got so many things integrated into it, it's not just web hosting, it's a full-service WordPress solution.

Automated WordPress backups, if your site crashes and I did have one of my sites crash, I just logged into WP Engine and hit revert and my site was back online within literally like five minutes. They've got automated backups, they've got security built-in, it's just a premium WordPress experience and they have some of the best hosting servers that are optimized for WordPress websites. One of the other issues I had with some of my other web hosts was that they weren't optimized for WordPress. It was these other Linux servers and I had WordPress on them and it just didn't work properly.

I had one of my buddies visit my website and as soon as I switched over to WP Engine, I didn't tell him because you wouldn't know this is you didn't know I had switched, and he was like freaking out because my site was loading so much faster and he's like, what did you do? What have you done? Are you using a caching plugin? What did you do to your site? I'm like well, I switched hosts. I switched to WP Engine and he started freaking out. I mean, they have the fastest servers, they have the fastest drives. It all SSD drives. If you're serious about your website and you're going to run it like a real business, then WP Engine is a no brainer.

What you can do is, you can use their free tool below this video in the description to run a speed test on your website and to check it out.
