All right. Hey guys, what's going on? We're here with my buddy, Josh. Welcome, Josh. And today I just want to talk about this new software product that I found where you can actually record audio and video on your Skype calls, which would be great for podcasts since a lot of podcasts are done over Skype and even videos. Josh, how are you doing? Let's talk about this.
And see how everybody can hear the audio of this recording, which I'm doing with the software right now and we'll get into more of what the software is in a little bit here. But Josh, go ahead and tell us about kind of what you do and how you see yourself using something like this.
Yeah, man, I'm impressed with this software just right off the bat. I mean, I'm just using some standard Apple headphones and you're coming in crystal clear. I can hear you great. I think you can hear me, right?
That's excellent. For the price, I think this is a great product. I'm excited about it because with this, I do a lot of calls internationally with international clients and so, I mean, of course I would tell them ahead of time that I was recording them, but I can use this software to record those Skype calls, record those conversations. And so in hindsight, when I have a doubt, when I have something that I'm like, I'm not sure exactly what was said, what decision was made in that meeting, I can go back and I have it on record and just look and double check. I think it's a great tool for that.
Oh yeah, recording meetings and stuff like that. It's phenomenal. When I was doing podcast recording previously, I'd get on Skype and just do a Skype call, but I was having to use a couple of different programs running simultaneously so that I could actually record the audio coming from my microphone, which is the blue Yeti, which is awesome if you don't have one, should get one. But I was recording me on the blue Yeti and then my guest's audio and then actually mixing those. But with this software you can actually record both the tracks independently at the same time and then split them out with the software all at the same time. So that was really a cool feature that kind of caught my eye there. You can do this all with just a couple of clicks and then take it into some sort of editing program if you want it to.
But this is a really great software. It's only like $29.99 so it's ultra cheap. It's called Ecamm. It's a call recorder so you can … It's really not more than a call recorder, but that's what the product's called. I'm going to put a link right below this video where you guys can check it out if you're interested.
But there's one huge catch and that is, Josh, what is it? It's only for Mac. So if you're on PC, I'm really sorry. I'm going to have to do some more research and find something for PC. But I'm on a Mac, Josh is on a Mac. I'm pretty sure everybody is on a Mac these days, but this has really been great.
I'm using it right now, so I hope you guys can tell how cool and quality the audio recording is on this software, but if you want to do something like that and record meetings, videos, or podcast audio off Skype, this is the way to do it.
